Brandon Butcher is expected to be named the next defensive coordinator at Campbell, sources told FootballScoop on Wednesday.
Butcher spent the 2025 campaign as the linebackers coach at UTEP, but prior to that was the defensive coordinator for UT-Martin teams that won back-to-back Big South-OVC conference championships in 2023-24. His 2024 Skyhawks defense finished fifth in FCS in rushing defense, seventh on third down, fifth in defensive touchdowns and 15th in takeaways, while six Skyhawks earned first team all-conference honors.
Butcher comes to the Buies Creek, N.C., school with plenty of connections in the Carolinas. He spent 2016-18 as a GA at Coastal Carolina, and 2014-15 in the same role at East Carolina. He also coordinated the defense for a semi-pro team in Myrtle Beach, S.C., in 2013-14…
