Hoke Shelter looking for adoptees after taking 30 puppies in one week

The Hoke County Animal Shelter is looking for adoptees and rescues after reportedly taking in 30 puppies in the span of one week—including a litter that was smuggled into the shelter beneath a woman’s coat.

“We are drowning. In just one week, we have taken in over 30 puppies,” writes the shelter. “This week alone, someone smuggled puppies under her jacket, placed them in a small kennel, and took off. While we appreciate they were brought to a shelter, this is still unacceptable.”

In addition to the number of puppies that were dropped off and surrendered, the shelter also took in a mother dog in active labor, who went on to deliver a litter of 10 puppies…
