Lit candle causes mobile home fire in North Carolina, fire officials say

JOHNSONVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — A lit candle was determined to be the culprit in a blaze that led to the destruction of a mobile home in Harnett County.

According to Cypress Pointe Fire and Rescue, units were sent to a structure fire call on Lizzie Jeter Lane in Harnett County near the Moore County line shortly before 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Once on scene, crews found a “heavily involved” fire at a mobile home. The only person in the home at the time met them outside in the front yard, Cypress Pointe Fire and Rescue said.
