Thousands of Central Electric customers without power in Lee, Moore, Harnett Counties after massive outage

SANFORD, N.C. (WNCN) — A power outage of unknown origin has left thousands of Central Electric Membership Corporation customers without power Tuesday night.

The power company’s outage detection map shows a massive service outage effecting more than 4,000 of the co-op’s customers.

The outage map shows the affected area’s stretching between three central North Carolina counties — Lee, Moore and Harnett — with the majority of customers suffering an outage in Lee and Moore counties…
