Winter storm updates from the Fayetteville area on Feb. 1, 2026

After a Saturday spent on pins and needles — will it snow? will the dry slot close? — Cumberland County woke up to a winter wonderland on Sunday.

It began snowing around 7 p.m. Saturday, and Fayetteville saw between 3 and 5 inches, according to local snow reports on the National Weather Service’s website.
