BENSON — Beginning Thursday, Feb. 26, the Town of Benson will temporarily change its water disinfectant from chloramines (a combination of chlorine and ammonia) to free chlorine.
The change will continue through Thursday, April 2, after which the town will resume the regular chloramination process.
The North Carolina Division of Public Water Supply recommends this annual disinfectant change. During this period, town staff will also be flushing water lines as part of routine maintenance of the distribution system…
