In November 2025, Investigators with the Manteo Police Department assigned to the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force initiated an investigation involving a 22-year-old male who was attempting to initiate sexual contact with a female juvenile.
During the investigation, Investigators determined the male had booked a room at a local hotel with plans to meet the juvenile in January 2026 for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity.
