HOPE MILLS, N.C. (WNCN) — In Hope Mills, what started as a simple dessert delivery turned into a life-saving act of heroism. The Drogos family said a DoorDash driver’s quick thinking may have saved their home and their lives.
CBS 17 spoke with the family on Ballentine Street, where signs of the fire are still visible. A tarp now covers a hole left behind by the flames, a reminder of how close they came to tragedy.
The Drogos family was upstairs, waiting for ice cream to arrive. Doorbell camera video shows a driver with DoorDash placing the dessert at the front door.
