NORTH CAROLINA — Steady rain has overspread much of Central North Carolina as of 8:15 a.m., with heavier bands stretching from Greensboro through Raleigh and extending south toward Fayetteville and Lumberton.
Radar imagery shows widespread rainfall covering the Triad and Triangle regions early this morning, with pockets of moderate to heavy downpours embedded within the broader shield of precipitation. The rain is also beginning to push into parts of Eastern North Carolina and the western mountain counties.
Heavier Bands From Greensboro to Raleigh
The most concentrated rainfall early this morning appears along a corridor running from Greensboro eastward toward Raleigh, where radar returns indicate stronger bursts capable of producing brief heavy downpours.
