Hope Mills woman jailed after girl allegedly tied to bed, deprived of food

A Hope Mills woman is facing multiple child abuse charges after investigators say she deprived a child of food, hit her and tied her to a bed.

Sandra Lurch, 66, was arrested Feb. 27 by the Hope Mills Police Department on one count of assault on a child under 12 and two counts each of intentional child abuse inflicting serious physical injury; misdemeanor child abuse; and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
