NC man sentenced to 25 years in prison for 2024 drug, theft case

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) — A North Carolina man was convicted in a drug and theft case following a trial on Thursday.

An Horry County jury convicted Kevin Penland, 39, of Hope Mills, N.C., of possession of a stolen vehicle, trafficking methamphetamines 100 to 200 grams and possession of burglary tools used during the commission of a crime, according to a release from 15th Circuit Solicitor Jimmy Richardson.

The Honorable Circuit Court Judge Benjamin Culbertson presided over the trial and sentenced Penland to 25 years in prison for the charges…
