Hope Mills’ Dirtbag Ales won by betting on the middle of nowhere | Opinion

Dirtbag Ales, a brewpub, taproom and family-centered social gathering spot on Corporation Drive in Hope Mills is getting more company — and a lot of it.

Trees have been cleared along a huge swath just south of the business to make way for a subdivision called Eagle Cove that is slated to have 200 single-family homes and 46 townhouses. Caviness & Cates Communities, a longtime residential developer in Cumberland County, is actively marketing the project, and its website says homeowners could purchase or begin construction as early as later this year.
