A frantic 911 call in the middle of the night led Cumberland County deputies to a Hope Mills neighborhood, where they discovered a longtime sheriff’s office captain shot to death.
Captain Adam Bean, a 20year veteran of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, was found dead just before 11 p.m. Friday along the 1600 block of Seattle Slew Lane. Investigators say Bean, who was off duty at the time, had been shot during what they are calling a domestic dispute involving another law enforcement officer.
