Speeds near 70 mph, BAC of .18 alleged in fatal Fayetteville freeway crash

A Hope Mills woman charged with murder was allegedly intoxicated and driving nearly 70 mph in the wrong direction on All American Freeway when she crashed into another car, killing her passenger and injuring two women, including an expectant mother who lost her baby, court records reveal.

Joelle Danielle Sage Outlaw, 32, is charged with second-degree murder and several other charges in the crash that killed Nealon Alan McNair, 31, of Fayetteville, and the unborn child, according to court records.

The Fayetteville Police Department said the crash occurred around 10:44 p.m. Feb. 23 between the freeway exits for Morganton and Cliffdale roads. The arrest affidavit said that officers were already responding to reports of a wrong-way driver when dispatch advised of the deadly collision moments later…
