Rising costs put Fayetteville’s Dogwood Festival’s future in question

FAYETTVILLE, N.C. (WNCN) — With just 18 days until kickoff, the future of the Fayetteville Dogwood Festival is now in question.

Organizers said without additional financial support from the City of Fayetteville, the more than 40-year-old tradition could come to an end.

For decades, the festival has been a spring staple drawing tens of thousands of people to downtown Fayetteville and generating millions of dollars for the local economy. Now, rising costs are putting that tradition at risk…
