One person dead following vehicle crash on I-95 in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA — One person was killed early Saturday morning in a crash involving a minivan and a gas tanker truck on Interstate 95 in Harnett County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Officials said the crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on I-95 North near mile marker 70 at Bud Hawkins Road, prompting the closure of the northbound lanes.

Troopers said a white minivan crashed into the back of a heavy-duty fuel tanker truck. One person died from injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim…
