GoFundMe started for the family of 2 people killed in Swainsboro crash

SWAINSBORO, Ga. (WSAV) – A GoFundMe has been started for the family of two people killed in an accident over the weekend when a falling tree struck their vehicle.

2 Swainsboro High grads killed after tree falls across roadway in Burke County Saturday night

Swainsboro High School posted the following message on its Facebook:

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we share the tragic passing of two of our most recent graduates from the Class of 2026, Nykeria Laniya Johnson and Kencerio Deontae Walker. The two were involved in a devastating accident last night that also claimed the life of a family member who was a former employee of Swainsboro High School.Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the families, friends, classmates, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss.Due to expected weather conditions, the candlelight vigil planned by members of the Class of 2026 for tonight will be rescheduled for later this week. Additional details will be shared once arrangements are finalized.
