Downtown Huntsville streets to close Wednesday morning near Madison County Courthouse

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Drivers heading through downtown Huntsville Wednesday morning should expect detours as several roads near the Madison County Courthouse are set to close for a special event.

Closures will begin at 5 a.m. on May 27 and are expected to remain in place until 8 a.m., according to officials.

The following traffic restrictions will be in effect:

  • Clinton Avenue – no access to Jefferson Street
  • Spragins Street – no access to Spring Street
  • Fountain Circle – closed just past the City Hall parking garage
  • Gates Avenue – no access to Madison Street
  • Gates Avenue and Franklin Street – no access onto Franklin Street from Gates Avenue
  • Green Street – no access to Eustis Avenue
