Search underway for person who discarded satchel of cats into Kentucky river

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (FOX 56) — Authorities are searching for answers after a bag with two dead cats was found near the Kentucky River.

Anderson County Animal Care & Control announced the discovery on Sunday, May 25. Officials said that the satchel was found near the Tyrone Boat Dock.

“At this time, we are attempting to identify the owner of the bag and locate the individual who may have discarded it. Based on the condition and location of the satchel, it is believed the bag may have been thrown into the Kentucky River and later washed back onto shore,” Anderson County Animal Care & Control wrote.
