Clerk pepper-sprayed during a robbery at Winston-Salem gas station

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — The Winston-Salem Police Department is searching for a suspect after a clerk was pepper-sprayed during a robbery early Tuesday morning.

The robbery took place at around 2:48 a.m. at a gas station on the 100 block of North Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Investigators say that the suspect walked into the store at the gas station and assaulted the clerk by pepper-spraying them before taking money from the store and leaving the scene on foot.
