Clinton Weigel’s Employee Honored After Helping Save Overdose Victim

A Clinton convenience store employee is being recognized for quick thinking and heroic actions that helped save a person suffering from an overdose earlier this year.

According to the Clinton Police Department, officers and firefighters responded to the Weigel’s on North Charles Seivers Boulevard on April 8, 2026, around 5:10 p.m. after reports of a medical emergency inside the women’s restroom.

When Officer Jessica Daugherty arrived on the scene, she discovered Weigel’s employee Darious Dunson already performing CPR on an unresponsive individual. Police said Dunson immediately called Anderson County dispatch after finding the person in severe medical distress and followed emergency CPR instructions provided by dispatchers until first responders arrived…
