Baby opossums turn Kentucky wildlife rescue into a busy nursery

MT. WASHINGTON, Ky. — A Bullitt County wildlife nonprofit welcomed a rare special delivery.

In just days, five adult opossum mothers arrived, each carrying babies tucked into their pouches.

“These guys think this banana is very comfortable,” said Brigette Brouillard, founder of Second Chances Wildlife Center. “They are used to mom’s pouch. They’ve only been out of mom’s pouch for several days.”…
