Interstate 65 will soon join the list of ongoing road construction projects from the Watterson Expressway to Interstate 71 as work begins on a project along a stretch of the highway in Louisville.
Starting June 1, a portion of I-65 from Jefferson Street to the Interstate 264 interchange will close as part of the $150 million Central Corridor Project, during which crews will replace multiple bridges in poor condition. The roadway is expected to reopen by the end of July.
The closure comes as the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is continuing work on its other projects, forcing motorists to look for alternate routes and deal with longer travel times…
