SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — Lightning from Memorial Day storms is believed to be responsible for a fire that destroyed a pole barn and van yesterday, according to the Midway Fire District.
Gunfire hits two vehicles in Mobile neighborhood
According to a Midway Fire District Facebook post, early Monday morning, residents on Ola Broxson Road said they heard a loud clap of thunder in the immediate area.
Around 7:15 a.m., Santa Rosa County Emergency Communications began receiving calls of a structure fire in the area of Highways 399 and 87, where smoke and flames were visible, according to a Holley-Navarre Fire District Facebook post.
When firefighters arrived, they found a “heavily involved storage building.” Because access from Highway 87 was limited, the responding fire crews decided it would be better to approach the fire from Ola Broxson Road.
Crews from Holley-Navarre Fire District Engine 41, Squad 44 and Engine 45 worked with the Midway Fire District Engine 37 and Navarre Beach Fire Rescue Engine 49 to stretch hoses through the woods and get the fire under control…
