A Maine snowbird will lose his driver’s license for six months after he was caught driving under the influence in a golf cart in The Villages.
Rodney Daniel Jordan, 70, of Stratton, Maine pleaded no contest to a charge of driving under the influence this past week in Sumter County Court. He will lose his license for six months, has been placed on probation for six months and has been ordered to perform 50 hours of community service.
Jordan was driving a white Yamaha golf cart at about 9:30 p.m. Feb. 9 on the golf cart path near the entrance to the Village of Bridgeport at Lake Sumter when the golf cart’s illuminated blue lights along both side of the bottom exterior of the golf cart attracted the attention of a Sumter County sheriff’s deputy.
During a traffic stop, Jordan admitted he had consumed “two vodka and crans” during dinner about 30 minutes earlier, according to the arrest report…
