For Parkview Baptist alumnus Kyle Wassom, his vocation began his sophomore year when he felt called into ministry. His youth pastor at Woodlawn Baptist Church in Baton Rouge took him under his wings and showed Wassom the ropes of pastoral responsibilities.
“He helped me learn the ins and outs of church ministry because it’s way more than just being on the stage saying some things. There’s a whole lot of behind-the-scenes work,” Wassom said.
In addition to running track and volunteering in his youth group, Wassom also found leadership in the student council — serving as sophomore, junior and senior class president.
