Crews battle fire at Decatur donut shop

DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) – Officials are responding to a fire at a Decatur business Tuesday afternoon.

Decatur Fire Lt. Brandon Sivley said crews were called to Donut Express on 6th Avenue, where firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. Sivley said the business was closed and no one was inside when the fire broke out.

Decatur Fire and Rescue Chief Nathan Springer said crews were able to knock down a fire on the roof quickly, and the roof has since been opened. Officials said they are still assessing the extent of interior damage, but described heavy damage to the business…
