Why Owosso’s “Trojan Time Machine” Video Feels So Emotional

Owosso Public Schools recently pulled off something really cool for graduation season, and honestly, it’s one of the sweetest things you’ll see all week.

The district created what they called the “Trojan Time Machine” at Bentley Bright Beginnings. Preschool kids walked into one side of the cardboard time machine and, seconds later, graduating seniors from the Class of 2026 walked out the other side wearing caps and gowns. Yeah, if you’re already getting emotional just hearing about it, you’re definitely not alone.

Mlive reports that the video was shared on the school district’s Facebook page and was set to Taylor Swift’s “Never Grow Up,” which pretty much guaranteed at least one parent somewhere started ugly crying immediately. Honestly, the timing couldn’t have been better because anybody with kids knows how insanely fast those years go.

One minute you’re dropping them off at preschool with a tiny backpack bigger than they are, and the next minute they’re walking across a football field getting a diploma.

How Owosso’s Viral Graduation Video Came Together

What makes it even cooler is that one of the graduating seniors actually helped work on the video. That’s the kind of full-circle moment people remember forever.

According to the district, the idea came from Bentley Bright Beginnings Early Childhood Director Alex Eskew after seeing similar videos online.
