LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Delta Township is once again canceling its July 3 fireworks show, telling 6 News it has been “discontinued” due to multiple factors, including budget constraints and safety concerns.
The fireworks show would draw crowds of 20,000 or more per year, township officials previously told 6 News.
An event of that size requires a large presence of police, fire, and EMS personnel on site, which the Delta Township Manager’s Office tells 6 News is achieved by contracting with other municipalities…
