Bought grape plants at Costco? Northern California officials want a call first

CALIFORNIA, USA — Agricultural officials across Northern California are warning Costco customers not to plant certain grapevines or citrus plants after invasive glassy-winged sharpshooters were detected on nursery stock shipments.

County agriculture departments in Solano, Yuba, Yolo and Stanislaus counties issued consumer alerts Tuesday asking people who purchased these plants from Costco stores to contact local officials immediately to help prevent the spread of the pest.
