An unlicensed driver from Mexico was arrested in a traffic stop at Lowe’s on U.S. Hwy. 441.
Jose Marcos Salinas Izaguirre, 54, of Lady Lake, was driving a red 2007 Dodge Ram pickup towing a trailer at about 8:30 a.m. Sunday when a deputy ran a check of the license plate and found that the vehicle’s registered owner had a driver’s license which had expired in 2005, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. After the deputy pulled over the pickup, the native of Ciudad Valles, Mexico admitted he was aware his license had expired. There was also a 2003 warrant for his arrest on a charge of driving under the influence out of Martin County, Florida.
