Healey Vows Prosecutions and Firings After Bombshell MassDOT Overtime Fraud Report

She’s waiting for the results of an investigation, but Gov. Maura Healey is already predicting that “people will lose their jobs” after a Boston 25 News report on suspected overtime fraud at the transportation department.

Based on a 231-day undercover probe, 25 Investigates reported last week that it uncovered a “systemic pattern of questionable overtime billing among the top-earning maintenance workers at a MassDOT District Six facility in Charlestown.”

“Anytime somebody is ripping off the public, ripping off taxpayers, I’m outraged,” Healey told reporters Thursday afternoon at the State House. “And you know, I hope whatever the investigation yields, know that they’re going to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”…
