Amazon planning a massive fulfillment center in Kalaeloa in 2029

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Same-day delivery from Amazon is coming to Hawaii as the world’s largest retailer is building a new facility in West Oahu. The project is still in its early stages, but the company is promising job opportunities and a commitment to being good neighbors.

The 49-acre lot in Kalaeloa sits empty for now, but big things are planned. The landowner is Amazon, and they’re planning to build a 3-million-square-foot, multi-level fulfillment center.

“It’s actually super exciting,” said Kiran Polk, Kapolei Chamber of Commerce Executive Director/CEO. “I think we should be fortunate that we have the opportunity to have a company like Amazon coming into Hawaii and into West Oahu.”…
