EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – Two people have been arrested following a shooting in the 200 block of East Florida Street on Tuesday.
Woman and child held hostage during multi-county chase
Officers say that when they arrived just before midnight on Tuesday, they found a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg in the area. EPD says the suspect, identified as Bradin Gunther, allegedly shot at the victim over a money dispute. According to a police affidavit, Gunther shot at the victim but missed and again shot at the victim as they were running away, grazing their leg. While investigating the scene, police observed a dark colored vehicle leaving the area, stopped it, and found Gunther to be a passenger in the vehicle. He was then detained and taken to EPD headquarters.
Police say that before being placed in the interview room at EPD, Gunther was found to be in possession of marijuana and a black ski mask consistent with a witness report from the shooting.
Officers then received a warrant to search the address where Gunther was staying, and after getting everyone out, authorities were notified Zachary Morell was still inside. Officials state Morell had active warrants against him and was taken into custody…
