Sheriff’s Office: Louisville man charged after victim’s throat cut at horse ranch

LOUISVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — A man has been charged with aggravated assault after Blount County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a stabbing and found a victim had been cut in his throat at a horse ranch in Louisville last week.

In an incident report obtained by 6 News Wednesday, deputies reported that they responded to a ranch along Miser Station Road after a reported stabbing around 11:20 p.m. on May 20. At the scene, one of the deputies learned that a new ranch employee, identified as Abdiel Gonzalez, 23, allegedly cut another man’s throat before fleeing the area.

The victim was taken by ambulance to UT Medical Center for treatment.

While speaking with the owner of the ranch, deputies learned that Gonzalez arrived at the ranch on May 13 for an open stall cleaner position. The deputies, assisted by a ranch manager to navigate a language barrier, then conducted more interviews with witnesses.

As deputies were finishing interview, Gonzalez returned to the scene and surrendered to deputies, the report said. He was arrested on one charge of aggravated assault.
