SSD school board approves pay freeze for union employees

TOWN AND COUNTRY, Mo. – After a majority of the Special School DistrictBoard of Education voted to freeze pay for employees represented across six different unions in the 2026-27 school year on May 26, emotions were strong.

“They work so hard with some of the hardest cases, with the littlest amount of resources,” said Sarah Miller, a teacher in the Clayton School District.
