A heartwarming moment unfolded recently when an 8-year-old girl named Madeline received an unforgettable gift from none other than Taylor Swift-an experience her family says they will cherish forever.
The story began in April when Madeline’s mother, Natalie Hulec, posted a TikTok video capturing her daughter’s simple yet endearing gesture. Madeline had written a note on a paper airplane to their new neighbor, musician Ethan Hayes, asking him to play a Taylor Swift song.
The note read, “Hi! I herd you playing the guitair,” with Madeline adding, “I’m doing my home work and i wanted to know if u can play Taylor Swift.”
In the video, Hayes reads the message and then plays Swift’s “Love Story” on his guitar while Madeline happily sings along from her window. The charming clip quickly went viral, catching the attention of Taylor Swift herself.
In response, Swift sent Madeline a handwritten letter and an autographed guitar adorned with imagery from her “Midnights” era. Natalie shared a photo on Instagram of Madeline holding the guitar alongside Swift’s note, which read: “Dearest Madeline, I just wanted to let you know that it made me so happy that you asked your neighbor to play my song for you.
You brought the biggest smile to my face! I’m sending you your own guitar, in case you ever want to learn too!
Thanks again! And sending you my love.”
Adding a special touch, Swift even sprayed her perfume on the note, a detail Natalie shared with heartfelt excitement. “The past month has been such a whirlwind and watching all of this unfold has been so surreal and exciting for our family,” she wrote. “Definitely something we’ll never forget.”
Ethan Hayes also expressed his joy at being part of this sweet exchange. After seeing the viral video himself, he described Madeline as “very sweet” and said, “It was good to be able to do something like that for someone.”
This delightful chain of kindness and music has brought smiles all around, proving once again how small gestures can lead to truly magical moments.
