Texas man sentenced for role in kidnapping plot, Charlottesville shooting

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – A Texas man responsible for a deadly shootout in Charlottesville’s Belmont neighborhood three years ago was sentenced Tuesday, May 26, to 10 years in federal prison.

Twenty-one-year-old Jordan Perez of Lackhart, Texas, conspired with others to kidnap, transport, and hold multiple victims at gunpoint for ransom that culminated in a deadly 2023 shootout.
