23XI Racing employee suspended by NASCAR after golf cart assault arrest

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — NASCAR has indefinitely suspended a 23XI Racing employee who allegedly assaulted a man with a golf cart at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Evanna Howell, 35, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon serious injury, Cabarrus County records show. A police report states that Howell intentionally hit a 77-year-old man with a golf cart at the race track on May 23, around 1:45 p.m.
