Middle Tennessee man steals more than $60K from blind, elderly uncle

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A jury has convicted a Middle Tennessee man who was accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from his blind, elderly uncle.

Robert Nash, district attorney general for the 19th Judicial District, said on Wednesday that a Montgomery County jury found 51-year-old Roman Jachim guilty of the crime. It only took the jurors an hour of deliberation to convict him of stealing more than $60,000 from his 78-year-old blind uncle, Gary Jachim.

Nash said that the victim, as well as the victim’s lifelong friend, were among those who testified in the three-day trial. The victim’s friend, who was not named in Nash’s announcement, helped Gary Jachim uncover that his money had been stolen…
