MORGAN COUNTY, Ala. — A Fort Payne man was arrested and charged after fleeing from a traffic stop on Highway 36 in Somerville on Tuesday.
According to the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 36 in Somerville. The vehicle initially turned on its turn signal before accelerating in an attempt to flee and throwing an item from the vehicle.
Deputies radioed for assistance, and a deputy got in position to spike the fleeing vehicle’s tires. The spike was successful on both front tires, but the vehicle continued driving on the car’s rims…
