WINTER HAVEN, Florida — A fentanyl dealer has been indicted for murder following the fatal overdose of a man last year, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
William Benjamin Newton, Jr., a 39-year-old from Dundee, was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office’s Organized Crime Unit. He is accused of selling fentanyl to 55-year-old Terry Morris on December 14, 2025, outside the Block Hotel in Winter Haven. The transaction was captured on security video, according to the sheriff’s office.
Morris was found dead on December 15, 2025, in his home on Adair Road in Davenport. Detectives discovered multiple hypodermic needles and white powder, which tested positive for fentanyl, around his body.
