SEATTLE — Meta Platforms Inc. will lay off approximately 1,395 employees in Washington state beginning July 22, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed with the Washington State Employment Security Department.
The parent company of Facebook and Instagram has about 7,500 to 8,000 workers in the Puget Sound region. The layoffs will affect employees at Meta facilities in Seattle, Bellevue, and Redmond, as well as remote workers living in Washington.
