University of New Orleans targets 6,000 students as LSU transition nears

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – The University of New Orleans is working to change its trajectory as it transitions to LSU New Orleans on July 1.

Leaders aim to boost enrollment and revenue to keep the campus competitive. Interim chancellor Jeanette Weiland said she wants at least 6,000 students enrolled this fall.

After graduating from LSU, Weiland earned two master’s degrees from UNO. She now serves as UNO’s interim chancellor and chief administrative officer. After months of reviewing finances and reorganizing departments, she said she is optimistic about the future…
