The first event to showcase the efforts of the Key Peninsula Farm Collective will be a one-day festival at Astrid’s Lavender Farm in Glencove, June 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tackett said there will be 16 farmers and vendors, including a rotating education-demonstration booth hosted by Willa Bella and Chittle farms and local master gardeners, walking trails, a picnic area, music, and plenty of parking. This year marks not only the 20th anniversary of the KP Farm Tour but also its reorganization and rebirth.
At the end of 2025, many thought they had experienced the last farm tour, as volunteer fatigue and an unsustainable growth model threatened the Farm Council.
That’s when Christie Tackett of Moon Mountain Farm was persuaded to step in.
