Plans announced for $38M mixed-use development in Evansville

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The city of Evansville, Bowen Capital, Goodin Development and other regional partners announced plans for The Republic, a new $38 million mixed-use development located in Evansville’s promenade district.

Officials say the project includes market-rate apartments and commercial space, including an outdoor dining patio. The Republic will include amenities designed to enhance connectivity, walkability and lifestyle within the growing district.

“The Republic is exactly the type of transformational development envisioned for the Promenade district,” said Stephanie Terry. “As Evansville continues to grow, projects like this help expand housing options, attract new residents and talent, and create the kind of vibrant, walkable places that strengthen quality of life and support long-term economic growth.”

Officials say plans for The Republic include two four-story buildings with 153 one- and two bedroom Class-A apartments alongside 3,159 square feet of commercial and restaurant space. Positioned within the heart of the Promenade district, the project will offer direct access to restaurants, shopping, trails, and entertainment destinations, further enhancing the district’s pedestrian- and bike-friendly environment…
