Man sentenced in North Memphis shooting over gambling dispute

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis man will spend 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to attempted first-degree murder in a 2023 shooting that left the victim paralyzed.

According to the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, Andre “NuNu” Wilson entered a guilty plea to Criminal Attempt First-Degree Murder in connection with a shooting on Shasta Street.

Prosecutors said the shooting stemmed from a gambling dispute. Investigators said Wilson shot the victim multiple times before stealing the victim’s belongings and fleeing the scene.
