IOWA CITY, Iowa — Two more people have been charged in connection with a shooting that injured five people at Iowa City’s Pedestrian Mall during a fight in April, and more than a dozen people have been charged in relation to just the fight.
Seventeen-year-old Damarian M. Jones of Cedar Rapids has already been charged with multiple counts of attempted murder and willful injury in connection with the April 19 shooting, and on Wednesday, the Iowa City Police Department released information about additional individuals charged in the shooting and fight.

Police said Jones was the one who fired into the crowd during the fight that began around 1:45 a.m., but the gun was provided by Ka’Mari Dozier, 17, of Cedar Rapids. Five people were struck by gunfire, with three suffering serious injuries and two suffering bodily injuries, according to court documents.
Dozier is now charged with five counts of attempted murder-joint criminal conduct, according to ICPD. He was prohibited from possessing a firearm because of his age. A criminal complaint filed in the case also stated, “The defendant had previously been an adjudicated delinquent for a crime that would constitute a felony if committed by an adult.”…
