New Orleans celeb Bryan Batt to sing baritone at Lyrica Baroque’s summer concert

A local celeb and an up-and-coming jazz all-star are set to join Lyrica Baroque for its annual summer concert, this year commemorating the country’s 250th birthday with pieces by American composers and a few well-known tunes.

Celebrated New Orleans actor and baritone vocalist Bryan Batt will be singing four popular songs, accompanied by local pianist Oscar Rossignoli.

Batt plans to sing Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Oh What a Beautiful Morning” from the musical “Oklahoma,” Cole Porter’s “Night and Day” from the 1932 musical “Gay Divorce,” Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind” and local favorite, “Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans?” composed by Louis Alter with lyrics by Eddie De Lange…
