Mayor Helena Moreno responded to a climate study on Louisiana’s vanishing coastline in a letter penned for NOLA.com, arguing that it is wrong to declare New Orleans “terminal.”
The study, led by Tulane geologist Torbjörn Törnqvist, predicts that rising sea levels will leave New Orleans completely underwater by the end of the next century. It calls for the state to begin planning a managed relocation of all residents.
